Visit to Madhyamaka Kadampa Meditation Centre

23rd Oct 2017

Over the half term, Tuesday and Wednesday Cubs had a trip to the Madhyamaka Buddhist Centre.

The children, leaders and parents met a Buddhist Nun who, along with a volunteer Buddhist from the centre, gave a history of the centre and an explanation of the Nun’s clothing.

They led us in two different meditation sessions and had the children assist with a play about the life of Buddha Siddhārtha Gautama.

The children also learnt how to set up a Buddhist shrine and were taken on a tour of the house and grounds. We had time after lunch to enjoy the outdoor play area before setting off home.

The children enjoyed the day, which went towards their World Challenge Badge and World Faith Badge and the Buddhist Nun and Volunteer commented on how well behaved everyone had been.

More details about the centre can be found by visiting their website;
