The first camp of the year for our Scout Group is the highly popular Group Camp, which is open to all Tadcaster Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Young Leaders.

This is our first visit to Tamarak, but, as usual, the Beavers will sleep indoors with all other sections camping outside.

Cubs, Scouts and Explorers can arrive from 5.30pm on the Friday night, whilst Beavers will arrive from 9.30am on the Saturday morning.

Bookings and payment should have been made already on MyScout where we will also post further information. If you have not yet returned your permission form, please hand to your section Leader as soon as possible.

The kit list is available below, please ensure that all kit is packed sensibly, not in black plastic bags.

The only parking available on site is for those staying. Otherwise parking is in the public car park for Barlow Common Nature Reserve. Full directions are shown on the map below.

The weather forecast does indicate some rain, so please make sure that your Cub has suitable outer clothing, a hat, maybe wellies, not just trainers and plenty of warm clothing. The weather is noticeably cooler at the moment, especially in the evenings. An extra blanket to go with the sleeping bag might alos be a good idea.

Please make sure that Cubs have eaten before arriving on camp, as supper will not be until some time later.

As usual, plenty of badge work will be covered, and lots of fun will be had with our Superhero theme for this year!

As has now become tradition, we will be having our AGM at the end of the camp.  Parents are asked to arrive at 2pm for refreshments.  The AGM will begin at 2.30pm.  As in the past we will be presenting Bronze and Silver Awards to Beavers and Cubs respectively.  There will be an opportunity to recognize other awards to our Scouts and Explorers.  Any new members attending the camp will be invested, providing they have the appropriate uniform.  There will also be presentations to some Leaders.

Finally, we will be presenting the cheque to Bloodwise, following on from our Sponsored Walk in June/July.  The final figure raised will be revealed at the AGM, with the prizes being awarded to those young people who raised the most money.

Please attend and show your support for the Group and its Leaders, Assistants, Executive members and supporters who all work so hard to provide quality Scouting for your children.
